Now that school is winding down for everyone it’s truly time to hit the summer mode button.
As most of you already know, the warm weather is my jam. I feel more motivated, more alive, and ready to take on new challenges and try new things. I think summer time is the best time to establish routines and habits. Things like working out, getting up early, getting in the fresh air and off our phone or tv screens. Incorporating a new task or schedule that will contribute to our overall goals but takes more time and intention. The energy sunshine and warm weather brings can make it feel less challenging to stay motivated and more consistent.
If you felt like this past winter you lost steam on some of the goals you were working on or habits you know make you feel better, now is a great time to change it up. Maybe there are changes you know you can make to help your overall quality of life, but the doom and gloom and chill of winter made making those changes feel so much harder.
In my opinion, there isn’t a better time to start trying new things and establish a routine so you can be solid and habitual by winter. Once you have done the work to incorporate new tasks or steps, new sleep and wake patterns, or new activities, it will not feel as bad to continue them when the days get shorter and the weather colder. You can coast through winter and not have the added pressure of learning and adapting to something new.
Are there any habits, routines, or activities you’ve been wanting to add, remove, or try? Are there any changes or commitments you’ve been thinking about that finally feel doable, ones that seemed too hard back in the dead of winter?
Just some food for thought. If you have any ideas or questions on how you can start building on a new habit or routine, hit me up! I’d love to help brainstorm with you 😊
